    Breaking Ground

It’s the first day on the job site after two days of orientation to the town, the Scorup house property, and all of the tools we will rely on for the build. The plan for day one was to stake out all of the footings so that we could break ground on Friday, but we ended up with enough time in the afternoon to get to it today. We’ll be back to digging tomorrow – that is, after we check out the hot air balloon festival that begins tomorrow morning at the Community Center.

We’ve been visited by a number of Bluff residents curious about what we are building and why we are blocking the ‘road’ that runs across the Bluff Community Center site. Since our job site is very public and central to the town this may come with challenges. We expect to frequently have an audience, and likely many questions and concerns throughout the build, but we are eager to share this process with the community.

Everyone here is getting along with one another well and is excited to collaborate since the move down here which gives us high hopes for the rest of the building process. Today, we also have our first few students from this semester going to visit the elementary school for the after-school program that is held every Wednesday, as these children are very excited to have us in town every year, and are always looking forward to getting to know us and help us in coming weeks.

Overall, everyone seems to be very excited to be apart of this new community we are involved in, and the new amazing experiences we will all have during our time in Bluff.
