We had the opportunity to travel down to Bluff to spend our first weekend on the DBB campus.
Bluff has a quaint beauty about it that cannot be found anywhere else. It was great to meet Atsushi and Hiroko and see all the great work they have done in Bluff.
As the sun fell, we were astounded by the incredible star-filled sky. Bluff is certainly a place to enjoy the night sky.
We woke the next morning early to prepare for our first workshop with the community of Bluff. It was a great experience where we learned just as much about the people who lived in Bluff, as they did about our research.
All in all, it was a successful trip. It was great it see first hand where we will be living come January, and meet the people we will be working with. There are still some unanswered questions, one thing we know for sure though is we have a lot of work ahead of us.
