Volunteers. Material arriving. Making significant progress. Fri-YAY was an absolute celebration filled with excitement to have new faces join that were eager to get down and dirty with us. We had a total of 8 volunteers on site. Significant planning was put in place the night before to make sure there would be enough tasks on site without clumsily tumbling over each other. The first volunteers on site were Tyler’s friends and fiance who finished painting all of the cedar, measured out blocking for the kitchen cabinets and helped with blow-in insulation. Lunch was full of energy and Adrienne from last year came in with 2 volunteers from Epicenter and 1 from Community Rebuilds in Moab. Following lunch the new volunteers joined the insulation team, furring strips, and Adrienne flew to join roofing team. The day ended with roofing being over halfway done, furring strips being halfway done, and insulation being just a little less than halfway done. It was a very productive day; thank you so much to the volunteers, Nicki, Amanda, Alyssa, Alex, Emily, Will, and Francis. We hope you had a great a day as we did!
