Design term: Sep 2008 - Dec 2008

Construction term: Jan 2009 - May 2009

Participants: 17 students

Client: Suzie Whitehorse

The home for Suzie Whitehorse and her two sons, rises three feet above the ground supported by a structure of re-purposed telephone poles. Within this structure lies the home; rectangular space broken into private and public spaces by the eastern entrance.

The exterior of the home includes re-purposed wood pallets, aluminum panels and recycled steel. The interior is finished with hand-made earth plaster and wood.

Other sustainable features include a water catchment system, solar hot water heaters, radiant flooring and a rocket stove with a cob bench.
